(registration) More to the Story Fall 2019

Many of us experience trauma, anxiety, depression, and other difficulties throughout life. It is easy for these challenges to become the only story we tell ourselves and others, resulting in barriers to support, connection, and growth.

Building on WISE Wisconsin's stigma reduction efforts, the More to the Story workshop expands our stories beyond hurtful beliefs (associated with difficulties) by considering Biblical truths and personal strengths to safely develop and disclose portions of our stories within a supportive community.

Through reflection, learning, and dialogue, this workshop guides us to own the mental health continuum without shame and accept the choice to voice our challenging experiences intentionally and effectively. As our resilience grows, our mental health challenges no longer define us, and instead we practice a loving response towards ourselves and others as we all care for our minds, hearts and souls.

More to the Story meets on Mondays for 9 weeks. Since each week builds upon the previous session, we recommend attending each week to get the most out of the experience. Each participant will receive a workbook ($10) to keep.
