Mother and Child Resource Ministry is a Blackhawk ministry that has spent the last 20 years helping new mothers and fathers in our community. We provide families in difficult situations a start to their child’s life with many of the essentials we would have for our own children. The ministry receives referrals from a variety of agencies around Dane county and receives calls from mothers who have a baby on the way and are not prepared.

We collect gently used or new donations of newborn clothing (up to 12 months) and supplies (blankets, bottles, diapers size newborn or 1, etc.) in the Mother and Child Resource donation bin on the lower level of Blackhawk Brader Way. Please note: Mother and Child does not accept large nursery equipment and toys such as exersaucers, swings, strollers, toddler clothes or toys, car seats, cribs + mattresses, breast bumps or nursing supplies.

Serving Opportunities:

• Sewing Volunteer - Sew comforters, receiving blankets and seams to provide premature babies with gowns and bedding. Fabric and patterns are provided.
• Sorting Volunteer - Sort baby clothes donated at our Donation Station and create newborn gift boxes.
• Wrapping Volunteer - Cover boxes with precut baby wrapping paper to make donated gifts look and feel special for new moms and their infants.
