JustDane

Just Dane is a private, 501 (c) 3 non-profit agency that offers an array of direct service programs for individuals and families involved in the criminal justice system. These services include prison reentry programs and services for children who have an incarcerated parent, community events designed to help people understand what it’s like to walk in the shoes of someone newly released from prison, and jail and prison in-reach programs.

Serving Opportunities:
All volunteers must be over 18 years of age.

  • Adult Mentor - Through Circles of Support, mentor formerly incarcerated individuals to provide social support, accountability, and positive community.
  • Just Bakery Tutor - Tutor one-on-one with Just Bakery students in the areas of Management, Supervision, Nutrition, Controlling Foodservice Costs, and ServSafe. Just Bakery is a 12 week educational and vocational training program that works with individuals who are experiencing significant barriers to employment and have an interest in baking or culinary arts as a career pathway.
  • Returning Prisoner Simulation - Be a role play actor and fill roles of community workers such as job center, health center, parole office, credit union, resale shop, and more in the Returning Prisoner Simulation workshop. The workshop gives participants an “up close” view of what it’s like to come home from prison.
